In late April, 29 persons traveled to Seine Bight, Placencia, Belize, to participate in the annual BCHS Student Mission Trip. This trip is designed to help persons in remote areas to receive much needed medical care, and expose future nurses and allied health professionals to a potentially life changing understanding of their chosen profession.
While in Belize we worked with Dr. Lesa Jordan, a practicing ER physician here in the United States, but a resident of Belize. Her husband, Mr. Warren Jordan, coordinated the trip and made arrangments in country for the work.
This year we saw or treated nearly 1000 persons in five villages in southern Belize. We saw an unbelieveable number of children and moms, but very few men. The culture experiences a very short life expectancy and the need for large families is evident in this very agrarian area.
It was exciting to see these young people adapt to the environment and the culture so quickly and provide excellent care. Once again Seeds Ministries was proud to be associated with such a strong group of quality students and future health professionals.
